Situated on the east side of Bishop Richard Fox’s Great Screen is a war memorial designed by Sir Ninian Comper
Unveiled and dedicated in 1922, this memorial depicts a polychrome figure of St George slaying the Dragon, a symbol of good overcoming evil, encircled by a gilded laurel wreath with trailing ribbons.
