Date | Monday 28 October

Time | 10am

Tickets | from £3 available from the Cathedral's Eventbrite

Join astronomer Tom Kerss for a fun, fact-filled, interactive talk about our incredible home planet Earth. Discover what makes it so special, and how astronomers may be close to finding other worlds like it elsewhere in the Milky Way. Could there be alien life in our Solar System or beyond? Are we the aliens? Find out how Spaceship Earth makes life possible, protects us from dangers in space, and gives us the opportunity to study the stars and unlock their secrets!

This event is for children 6+ and will be held under artist Luke Jerram's stunning Gaia installation.

Tom Kerss is an astronomer, author, speaker and consultant specialising in the rewarding task of connecting people to their shared universe, by exploring the night sky and our understanding of it. He is a passionate and resolute stargazer, and believes that a connection to the night sky is a fundamental part of the human experience. In all Tom's endeavours, he aims to strengthen that relationship and promote a positive impact for current and future generations.

The Gaia programme at Southwark Cathedral is raising funds to support the Cathedral's mission and ministry, to safeguard its heritage and to develop and maintain its outreach and education offering.
