Would your son like to be a chorister at Southwark Cathedral?

An exciting opportunity for boys' aged 7 - 10 to audition for the Cathedral choir

“Being a cathedral chorister is the single greatest leg-up a child can be given in life”. Alexander Armstrong, former chorister, television and radio presenter, comedian, actor and singer.

“My time as a chorister at Southwark Cathedral was so much fun! It really built my confidence and helped me to aspire to the highest professional standards. I really enjoyed recording for the blockbuster Netflix series, The Crown, in February 2020 when we got to sing alongside stars of stage and screen”.  Henry, Senior Chorister, Southwark Cathedral

Our choristers benefit from:

  • Free singing and music lessons
  • Paid chorister scholarships
  • International choir tours
  • CD recordings
  • Regular BBC radio broadcasts
  • Sing with like-minded young people who share a passion for music

Our forthcoming audition day for boy choristers will take place on Saturday 13 November 2021 and is open to any boy currently aged 7 to 10 who enjoys singing and might be interested in joining the Cathedral Choir. No prior choral experience is required: we look for boys who simply enjoy singing and have a good musical ear; who are bright, responsive and quick to learn.
