Vigil for Peace in the Holy Land

A time of silent prayer for the Holy Land.

A short, silent prayer vigil for peace in the Holy Land.

These vigils will take place on the first Friday of every month in the Chapel of St Francis and St Elizabeth where the Cross of Nails calls us to focus on reconciliation

The prayer vigil will end with the regular Midday prayers, which, on Fridays, include the Coventry Litany of Reconciliation and for the next few months specific prayers for peace. During this time of violence in the Holy Land, we encourage you to spend some time praying for an end to atrocities in Gaza and the West Bank, for the peace of Jerusalem and for the healing of the wounds of history. You might like to light a candle as a sign of your prayer, as we ask God to shed the light of love in all the troubled corners of the world.

Lead us from death to life, from lies to truth; lead us from despair to hope, from fear to trust; lead us from hatred to love, from war to peace. Let peace fill our heart, our world, our universe.
