Join us for an unforgettable night at Southwark Cathedral as we celebrate the legendary Apollo missions and their impact on human history.

Join us for an unforgettable evening as imaging specialist Andy Saunders takes us on a journey through the Apollo missions using his meticulously remastered photographs. The original and remastered images will be displayed side by side as Andy explains the cutting-edge techniques used to create the highest quality Apollo photographs ever produced. These include forgotten moments and the only recognisable image of Neil Armstrong walking on the moon.

About the Speaker

Andy Saunders is recognized as one of the world's leading experts in NASA digital restoration. His work has been exhibited in museums and has garnered attention from various media outlets, including BBC News, the Daily Telegraph, Smithsonian's Air & Space Magazine, Ars Technica, and the Washington Post. His expertise and contributions to NASA's own archives have solidified his reputation in the field of digital restoration.

Copies of Apollo Remastered  will be available to purchase on the evening and Andy will be signing copies.

  • Apollo Remastered is part of Southwark Cathedral's Museum of the Moon events programme.
  • Museum of the Moon is a touring artwork by UK artist Luke Jerram. Measuring seven metres in diameter, the moon features 120dpi detailed NASA imagery of the lunar surface. At an approximate scale of 1:500,000, each centimetre of the internally lit spherical sculpture represents 5km of the moon’s surface*.
  • Doors will open at 6.30pm to allow attendees to view the Museum of the Moon before the event starts at 7pm.
  • Entry to the event will be via the Churchyard.
