Join our Learning Centre team this summer for free hands-on family learning in collaboration with our friends at Southwark Heritage Centre and The Old Operating Theatre. Sessions are suitable for families with children aged 4+

26th July and 15th August - Creation Station

Discover Southwark's rich history of making - from textiles to pottery and crafts. Handle historical objects from the Southwark Heritage Centre and have fun with some family craft to help you explore our Threads through Creation exhibition.  Free. Drop-in. 

31st July - Healing Herbs

Learn how medieval monks harnessed the power of plants for healing, handle medical artefacts from the Old Operating Theatre and make and take your own leaf-printed souvenir. Free. Drop-in. 

31st August - Thames Fish Puppets

Make and take a fish puppet in this family workshop run as part of the Cathedral's  Mudlarking and Heritage Crafts Day.  Collect a free ticket on the day. Workshop times: 10.15-11.00, 11.30-12.15, 13.15-14.00 and 14.30-15.15. 

Throuughout the summer you can also explore the breathtaking Threads Through Creation exhibition - 12 huge, colourful embroidered panels depicting the Creation Story - displayed at the Cathedral throughout the summer holidays.
