Journey through the Wilderness
A special meditative service as we begin our Lenten journey
The service is an exploration in word and music of the journey that on which Lent takes us. The music is provided by the Lay Clerks and the readings have been recorded in our sister church St Hugh's using the wonderful wilderness panels there (see picture above).
These are the work of the artist Adam Boulter, now a priest in Madagascar but at one time a member of the Cathedral congregation. You can find out more about Adam and his work on his website here.
The reflection in the service will be given by Canon Andrew Zihni the Cathedral Precentor.
Alongside the service there will be a video recorded for us by Adam explaining the thought behind the panels and exploring the concept of wilderness in the five world faiths represented in the panels, from left to right Hinduism, Judaism, Christianity, Buddhism and Islam.
