The UK AIDS Memorial Quilt is an irreplaceable piece of social history. It tells the stories of many of those lost in the early days in the HIV AIDS epidemic of the 1980’s and 90’s.

The Quilt is made up of 42 panels. The Cathedral is displaying 1 of these panels. Each panel commemorates and celebrates the lives, passions and interests of the individual lives of 8 people who died of AIDS.  All the panels have been lovely made by their friends, lovers or family.

The Quilt is a unique historical document.
