Occasionally access to the Cathedral may be restricted due to events taking place.
Southwark Cathedral is a busy working church, regularly hosting services and events. It may be neccessary to close all or part of the Cathedral to visitors to allow for these events to take place.
The Cathedral Shop and Cathedral Cafe will remain open during these times unless stated otherwise.
Wednesday 10 July, Friday 12 July and Wednesday 17 July
The main Cathedral building will be closed until 1pm due to a a series of school leavers services taking place. Our regular services will take place in the Harvard Chapel.
The Cathedral Shop and Cafe will remain open.
Tuesday 16 July
Due to an event taking place in the Nave, the Cathedral will be closed to visitors from 10.30am - 1pm and from 2pm - 4.30pm. Our regular services will continue throughout the day and the Harvard Chapel will be reserved for private prayer.
The Cathedral Shop and Cafe will remain open as normal.
