Occasionally access to the Cathedral may be restricted due to events taking place.
Southwark Cathedral is a busy working church, regularly hosting services and events. It may be neccessary to close all or part of the Cathedral to visitors to allow for these events to take place.
The Cathedral Shop and Cathedral Cafe will remain open during these times unless stated otherwise.
Thursday 2nd April
The Cathedral will be closed until 1pm, after the Chrism Eucharist has taken place. If you would like to attend the Chrism Eucharist service, free tickets are available online.
Friday 3rd April
The Cathedral Shop will be closed on Good Friday. The rest of the Cathedral remains open.
Monday 13 – Wednesday 15 April
Due to filming, the Cathedral will be closed to visitors. However, regular services will continue in the Harvard Chapel, and the café and shop will remain open as usual. Thank you for your understanding, and we apologise for any inconvenience caused.
