Due to the nature of the Cathedral we are unable to allow entrance to un-booked groups or tours.
Whilst we make every effort to welcome everyone to Southwark Cathedral, all groups or organised tours of the Cathedral must be booked in advance. Any unathorised groups who do enter the Cathedral without booking in advance will be asked to leave.
Booking and Further Information
For more information, to request a group brochure or make a booking, please email our Visitor Engagement Officer.
Alternatively, please download our booking form here and send it as an email attachment.
Sundays and Advent and Christmas
Sunday is our day of worship. Due to services taking place on a Sunday we do not take groups bookings for this day. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.
Please note that due to how busy we are with services and Christmas concerts during December we don't take any group bookings for this month.
Hourly Prayers
The Cathedral has established the practice of having hourly prayers throughout the day from 10.30am to 4.30pm. These are led by our Day Chaplains and last approximately two minutes. During the prayers, all visitors are requested to remain still and are invited to join in saying The Lord's Prayer, in their native language.
The Harvard Chapel
The Harvard Chapel is reserved for private prayer. Groups may enter this chapel but Group Leaders are not permitted to speak, sing or play an instrument to their members whilst in the chapel or take photographs.
All profits generated by Group Visits are used to help maintain the ministry and fabric of Southwark Cathedral.
