Richard Taylor Honoured at Memorial Service

On Saturday 11 May, we were honoured to host a memorial service for Richard Taylor, father of the murdered schoolboy Damilola Taylor.

The service, organiased by the Damilola Taylor Trust, was attended by more than 600 people, including Home Secretary James Cleverly, Met Police Commissioner Sir Mark Rowley and Baroness Dorren Lawrence. Music was provided by Beverley Knight and the London Community Gospel Choir.

Mr Taylor had devoted years to campaigning against knife crime and set up the Damilola Taylor Trust in May 2001 as a memorial to his son with the aim of providing a legacy of hope and opportunity for disadvantaged and under privileged young people.
