A one day workshop producing beautifully painted Easter Eggs using traditional techniques.
Join us for a fun-filled day of creativity and culture! Learn the ancient Ukrainian art of Pysanky, the traditional method of decorating Easter eggs. Our skilled instructor, Hanna Ward will guide you through the process, teaching you the intricate designs and techniques that make these eggs so unique.
During this hands-on course, you will discover the history and symbolism behind Pysanky, as well as the different tools and dyes used in the process. From delicate patterns to vibrant colors, you will create your own masterpiece to take home and showcase to your friends and family.
No prior experience is necessary - this course is open to beginners and enthusiasts alike.
Attendees will need to bring the following;
- Pencil
- Rubber
- Sharpener
- Ruler
- Something suitable to carry your decorated eggs home in safely!
All other equipment, eggs and refreshments will be provided.
Hanna Ward, is a Diploma Iconographer and has researched and studied iconography and Orthodox Church painting under several masters from Greece, Russia, Romania, Finland and UK.
Hanna has a Masters Degree in Sacred Traditional Arts from Prince’s School of Traditional Arts, London and she has finished the four year diploma studies in iconography and wall painting under iconographer Aidan Hart in Prince’s School’s Liturgical Arts Program.
