Come join us on Saturday 12 July for a day dedicated to raising awareness about modern slavery. This event will shed light on the issue of human trafficking and forced labour, aiming to educate and empower attendees to act against this global problem. Throughout the day, you will be able to talk to several organisations who work in this field to help you understand the signs of modern slavery and how you can make a difference in your community.
Visitors will be able to see our charity partner Hestia’s Art is Freedom exhibition in the Cathedral’s Churchyard. The exhibition features artwork and photography created by survivors of modern slavery supported by Hestia, who take part in workshops before choosing their best pieces. And we are delighted that the day includes a performance by the Amies Freedom Choir, established in 2014 by Pan Intercultural Arts, this ensemble is for female survivors of human trafficking and modern slavery using the therapeutic power of group singing to help survivors make friends, build confidence, and explore different musical and cultural genres.
The Freedom Choir will be performing at 1pm.
Don't miss this opportunity to learn, connect, and become an advocate for those who are hidden in plain sight. Together, we can work towards a world free from modern slavery.
