Bankside artist Joe Mayhook has lived on the same street his entire life, and in this time, he has watched his home transform. What was once an overlooked corner of London is now a vibrant destination.

Over two decades, Joe painted daily, creating a body of work reflecting the spirit and resilience of Bankside, which will be displayed in the Cathedral Cafe from 27 November until 27 January 2025.

The exhibition features a curated selection of paintings and prints which include iconic landmarks like Southwark Cathedral and Borough Market, as well as the shifting streets that define Bankside. 

Joe is also a dedicated community advocate, leading volunteer gardening efforts for Bankside Open Spaces Trust (BOST) to keep SE1 green and thriving. 

BANKSIDE 52 NOT OUT invites you to step into the past and present of Bankside to experience its unique mix of tradition and modernity.
