Alex Barrett is an artist-filmmaker whose works collectively have been screened at over 70 international festivals, including such prestigious events as the Edinburgh International Film Festival, Hamburg International Short Film Festival, and the Tribeca Film Festival
His debut feature, Life Just Is, was released theatrically in the UK in December 2012, screening at a number of cinemas including the ICA, Riverside Studios, Genesis Cinema and the BFI Southbank where it had a two-week run.
His second feature, London Symphony was released in September 2017 to great acclaim with sold-out screenings at the Barbican Centre, prior to touring over fifty venues throughout the UK. London Symphony was nominated for the Michael Powell Award for Best British Film at the Edinburgh FIlm Festival 2017. BBC and Guardian film critic Mark Kemode featured London Symphony in his BBC roundup of the best films of 2017.
London Symphony serves as the subject for Alex's first solo photography exhibition here at the Cathedral which runs from 10 February - 2 March 2018 in the Refectory. Further details about this exhibition can be found here
