Lay Member of Chapter and Charity Trustee – Fundraising
Southwark Cathedral is seeking a new Lay Member of Chapter and Charity Trustee with experience in fundraising, partnership development or income generation.
The successful candidate will contribute to the Cathedral’s governance and strategic direction, while helping to strengthen external relationships, develop fundraising opportunities and broaden the Cathedral’s philanthropic networks.
Commitment: Chapter meets 10 times a year, typically in person, with remote attendance possible. Trustees serve for up to four years, renewable once.
Remuneration: Unpaid. Reasonable expenses may exceptionally be reimbursed.
Closing date: 11 October 2026, 11.59pm

Lay Member of Chapter and Charity Trustee – Property
Southwark Cathedral is seeking a new Lay Member of Chapter and Charity Trustee with senior-level experience in property strategy, investment and management.
The successful candidate will advise Chapter on the future strategy and management of the Cathedral’s property portfolio, including the Cathedral building and precinct, with consideration of investment, maintenance, risk and the stewardship of a Grade I listed building.
Commitment: Chapter meets 10 times a year, typically in person, with remote attendance possible. Trustees serve for up to four years, renewable once.
Remuneration: Unpaid. Reasonable expenses may exceptionally be reimbursed.
