For the Retreat Association's Summer Event this year we are delighted to welcome our speaker and patron Dr Mark Oakley, Dean of Southwark, for a day of talks, discussions, reflections and refreshments. All are welcome to attend this annual event of the Retreat Association.

The Very Revd Dr Mark Oakley is Dean of Southwark. Formerly Dean of St John’s College, Cambridge, and Chancellor of St Paul’s Cathedral, he is author of several books on poetry and theology. He was awarded the international Michael Ramsey Prize for theological writing, and the Lanfranc Award by the Archbishop of Canterbury for education and scholarship. Mark was a speaker at the 2025 Retreat Association Conference, following which he joined as a Patron.
 
Revd Graham Sparkes is a Baptist minister and former President of Luther King House Educational Trust in Manchester, where he teaches Christian spirituality. Graham’s current activities include leading retreats, involvement in the life and work of Manchester Cathedral and serving as Moderator of the Trustees for Churches Together in Britain and Ireland (CTBI). Graham became a Retreat Association Patron in 2013 and has been regularly involved in the charity’s activities including our conferences and Summer Events.
