Two Minutes Silence for VJ Day
At 12 noon on Friday 15 August, we will keep two minutes’ silence to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the end of hostilities in the Pacific theatre of the Second World War, particularly remembering the many thousands who were killed or affected by the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki on 6 and 9 August 1945.
A vigil for peace will then be kept in the Chapel of Reconciliation until the start of Midday Prayer and Eucharist at 12.30pm
