Celebrate World Book Night in style at the Cathedral after dark for our Big Read-In.

Step into our candlelight space for The Big Read-In, where you are invited to slow down, settle in and lose yourself in a good book within a safe, calm and beautifully atmospheric space.

Mingle with fellow book lovers as you share thoughts, swap stories, and take part in our book swap. Throughout the evening take part in mini guided tours that reveal the cathedral’s rich literary heritage of poets, playwrights and authors.

Reading Hour, 7pm - 8pm

• Visitors are encouraged to take a quiet moment to read in a safe, calm candlelit, environment to support #ReadingHour
• Location: Retrochoir

Book Swap, anytime, drop-in

• Come together to share and discover new books. You'll be encouraged to bring along a book you have read and swap for another beloved story.
• Location: North Transept

Design your own Bookmark Craft Activity, anytime, drop in

• Bring out your creativity and design your own bookmark.
• Location: South Transept

Mini Guided Tours, every 30 minutes

• Join our knowledgeable Cathedral Guides for a short 15-minute guided tour of the Cathedral as we explore how literary greats have shaped and inspired our story.

Refreshments will be available for purchase.
