*Please note, the accessible/step-free experience should take around 30-45 minutes, due to a shorter routeSee 'Accessibility' below.

This exhibition includes loud sounds, music and moving and flashing images throughout the experience, as well as bright lights and areas of darkness within the Cathedral. We will have a number of Relaxed viewing slots, when the volume of the soundtrack will be turned down and the overall event capacity will be reducedWe would advise bringing your own ear defenders if required.

Timeslots

Timeslots are in operation for this event to allow a steady flow of people. Admission to the light and sound exhibition will be from the timeslot you have selected.

We will be operating a queuing system each evening. Our stewards will direct you to the correct queue when you arrive. We would ask you not to arrive more than 15 minutes prior to you allocated time slot – this is to ensure that crowds can be managed and admitted on time.

Please be aware that we expect this to be a very popular event and our team will be working hard to admit visitors as punctually as possible, as such we ask that visitors be patient and work with our stewards, so that everybody can enjoy the event.

Accessibility

We will endeavour to ensure all ticket holders enjoy their experience to the best of our abilities. However, please be aware that the full route is not step-free and includes uneven surfaces.

About Luxmuralis

Luxmuralis is a leading artistic collaboration between sculptor Peter Walker and composer David Harper, renowned for immersive fine art, light, and sound installations across the UK and internationally.

Specialising in large-scale experiences rooted in the fine art tradition, Luxmuralis transforms public and unexpected spaces—especially cathedrals and sacred sites—into powerful, evocative journeys through light and sound. Drawing on the concept of Son et Lumière, their work merges contemporary media with deep art historical context, engaging audiences emotionally and physically as they move through the spaces.

Credited as creating the “stained glass windows of our time,” Luxmuralis doesn’t just illuminate buildings—they bring them to life, painting with light to tell stories that resonate with both the heritage of the place and modern sensibilities. Each exhibition is a curated fine art experience, designed to connect the ancient and contemporary, making art more accessible and deeply meaningful.
