An Act of Regret, Remembrance and Restoration

Join us at Crossbones Graveyard, the 'outcasts' burial ground

The Very Reverend Andrew Nunn, Dean of Southwark conducts a special service at Crossbones, the outcasts' burial ground, Redcross Way SE1.   This 'Act of Regret, Remembrance, Restoration' expresses the church's regret for the treatment of the 'Winchester Geese', the sex workers who worked in the Bankside brothels licensed by the Bishop of Winchester, yet were allegedly denied a Christian burial.

It is a powerful statement of the Cathedral's support for the protection of Crossbones Garden.

Numbers will be limited to 30 people due to social distancing,  Please wear a mask or face covering if you plan to attend.
