Historic Stone Carving – A Talk by Tim Crawley

Talk Heritage

As part of London Craft Week 2018

Tim Crawley, Head of Historic Carving at the City & Guilds London School of Art will be talking about the great tradition of architectural stone carving that goes back millennia and  the place it has in today’s world for contemporary and historic buildings where there is tremendous potential for figurative, foliate or abstract ornamentation.

Tim Crawley is a stone carver, sculptor and designer who has worked on many of England’s most famous stone buildings. He is experienced in realising large-scale architectural stone carving projects, from the design stage, which generally involves the production of drawings and models, through to the carving process and finally to installation.
