Remembering Two Bishops

In 2019 two former Bishops of Southwark died

Bishop Ronnie Bowlby, who was Bishop of Southwark from 1980-1991 and Bishop Roy Williamson, who was the diocesan bishop from 1991-1998, both passed away.  They each had distinguished ministries and helped to shape the diocese over two decades.

Members of the diocese will gather, with their families and friends, to give thanks to God for all the blessings that we received from them.

A joint Service of Thanksgiving will take place in Southwark Cathedral on Saturday 2 May 2020 at 12 noon.  Bishop Christopher Chessun, the current Bishop of Southwark, will lead the diocese in this act of remembrance. Simply turn up and give thanks to God for all that Bishop Ronnie and Bishop Roy gave to us.
