Dame Tessa Jowell, MP for Dulwich & West Norwood until 2015 and the driving force behind bringing the Olympic games to London, has died at the age of 70
The Dean joined members of the London Borough of Southwark including the Leader of the Council, Councillor Peter John, to open the book of condolence for Baroness Jowell. Dame Tessa Jowell was an MP for one of the constituencies in the Diocese of Southwark and had been a good friend and supporter of the Cathedral.
Tweeting immediately on hearing of Tessa's death the Dean said 'Her bravery was exemplary. May she rest in peace.'
Baroness Jowell is being remembered in prayer in the Cathedral and the community join in sending condolences to her husband and family.
