The Southwark Cathedral Finance Officer will assist the Cathedral Accountant in their responsibility for the accounts of the Cathedral. They will also assist with the financial management of the Cathedral’s trading subsidiary, Southwark Cathedral Enterprises Ltd (SCE Ltd).
We are looking for a dynamic, flexible Finance Officer who is familiar with Sage Line 50 accounting software and also capable of doing administration for the finance department especially in preparation for the Board of SCE Ltd and the Cathedral’s Finance Committee meetings.
The Finance Officer will work under the direction of the Cathedral Accountant who is responsible for all financial management of the Cathedral and its trading subsidiary, together with two related Trusts. This includes using Sage Line 50 software to record all financial transactions, using Sage Payroll for the staff payroll function, undertaking all associated work on VAT and PAYE returns to HMRC and making regular claims for Gift Aid. The finance team produce quarterly management accounts and monthly cash flow forecasts for both the Cathedral and SCE Ltd and prepare the annual accounts of both entities in preparation for the audit.
The team also assist the Chief Operating Officer in drawing up the annual budget for the Cathedral and SCE Ltd.
