As the nation remembers the 75th anniversary of the end of conflict in Europe the Diocese of Southwark gathers to commemorate and pray at 12 noon on Friday 8 May
The Archdeacon of Croydon, the Ven Dr Rosemarie Mallett and acclaimed actor Timothy West read the two readings.
The sermon is given by the Bishop of Southwark who also leads the diocese in a recommitment to peace.
The prayers are led by members of congregations across the diocese Lotwina Farodoye, the Revd Stanley Njoka, Folarin Oginni and Jackie Pontin and anthems are sung by the choir of Souhwark Cathedral and the Cathedral Lay Clerks under the direction of Ian Keatley.
There is also a wonderful montage of photographs of service men and women as well as civilians from the war time years shared with us from across the diocese and beyond.
