Because the building is a busy and active Cathedral church, we strongly encourage all groups to pre-book their visit. To improve your group’s experience of the cathedral, we can book one of our extensively trained Cathedral Guides to take your group on a 90 minute tour of the building. We also welcome groups who bring their own external guide.
More details about our cathedral tours for groups can be found here.
We also run walking tours for groups. Details of these can be found here.
Mandatory admission charges are in operation for all group visits.
Group Tours of the Cathedral with Cathedral Guide: £7.00
Group Tours of the Cathedral with external guide/leader: £5.50
All prices are inclusive of VAT.
*To qualify for these rates, the minimum number of people per group is 10. The maximum number per group is 53 people.

No single tour group will have exclusive use of the Cathedral and there will be occasions when other tours are taking place concurrently. In these circumstances we ask tour guides to follow the directions of Cathedral staff as to the route they should take around the building.
The Cathedral Guides are extensively trained over a number of months on the cathedral history. Once qualified as a guide, they are encouraged to continue their research on the Cathedral history. Many of our guides guide elsewhere and we have several who are also City of London guides.
Here in the cathedral, the guides are all volunteers. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer guide, please contact our Visits & Tours Officer, Ruth Miller - tel: 020 7367 6734
The Cathedral has established the practice of having hourly prayers throughout the day from 1030 to 1630. These are led by our Day Chaplains and last approximately two minutes. During the prayers, all visitors are requested to remain still and are invited to join in saying The Lord's Prayer, in their native language.
Tour Guides should be made aware of this and are requested to encourage all within their group to comply, wherever they may be within the Cathedral.
Please also note that the Harvard Chapel is reserved for private prayer. Whilst members of your group may enter, tour guides are not permitted to speak to their group inside this Chapel.
Group Visitors Facilities
We encourage you to provide time within your itineraries for group members to visit our Cathedral Shop. The shop carries a range of Cathedral souvenirs, cards, gifts and books.
For those coming on a group tour, we offer a 10% discount. A voucher will be given to each member of your group at the beginning of the tour.
For visitors to the Cathedral, a guidebook is available priced at £4.50. However for those on a group tour, this item is reduced to £3.50.
A Souvenir Map is also available for £1.00.
Photography and Filming
Photography and filming is allowed within the Cathedral. The £1 Souvenir Map contains a permit for non-commercial photography and filming.
The purchase of a permit does not permit filming during services or ticketed concerts.
Professional and commercial photography is not permitted without prior agreement. For information and fees relating to the commercial use of photography, please contact the Development Director, Rose Harding.
There is also a Cathedral Refectory. This is assisted-service. It is operated by Azure. These can be individually purchased.
