Christmas at Southwark Cathedral

From dazzling cocktail parties to elegant fine dining, this Christmas we are pulling out all the stops to host a season of festive events guests will never forget.

We’ve put together range of festive packages including private dining in the Nave, cocktail parties in the retro choir and drinks receptions in Millennium Courtyard marquee.
All of our events feature catering by Elior, with delicious canapés, buffets and fine dining menus served in the stunning setting of the Cathedral.

Fine dining in the Nave

The majestic main hall of Southwark Cathedral, the Nave, offers a unique backdrop for truly exceptional events. It is the most visually and architecturally impressive of the Cathedral’s spaces, guaranteed to wow guests and leave a lasting impression.

A variety of options are available for dressing the space and festive fine dining packages can include dramatic lighting, live music, PA system and even a red carpet rolled out for your guests.

Cocktail parties in the retro choir

The oldest part of the Cathedral building, the retro choir is perfectly suited to more intimate festive gatherings and Christmas cocktail parties.

Lit by Gothic-style tall candlesticks, the space can be dressed with either large tables for dining or poseur tables for cocktail receptions.

The retro choir can be hired out for drinks receptions for up to 200 people, as well as small seated dinners.

Christmas in the Refectory and Millennium Courtyard marquee

Throughout November and December, the Refectory is available to hire for private events including Christmas lunches and evening drinks receptions.

A marquee erected in the adjoining Millennium Courtyard for the winter season, overlooking the Thames, increases the capacity of the space to 80 for seated lunches and dinners and 200 for standing events.

Menus available in the Refectory and Millennium Courtyard include a three course dinner menu and canapé menu which can be tailored to suit your event.
