Weekend Shop Supervisor
(Part-time: 13 hrs on alternate weekends)
Salary: £7.50 per hour
Southwark Cathedral Enterprises Ltd is looking for a Weekend Shop Supervisor. This is a new post, assisting the Retail Manager, responsible for the day-to-day running of the shop in an effective and profitable way, supervising voluntary staff and assisting in their training.
The Shop, which stocks a wide range of cards, souvenirs and gifts, is an important source of income for the Cathedral and attracts a large number of regular customers as well as visitors to the historic Cathedral. We are looking to recruit someone with appropriate retail experience (including EPOS till systems) able to support the manager in purchasing, merchandising and sales.
The postholder will be required to work 10am to 6pm on Saturdays and midday to 6pm on Sundays on alternate weekends with additional hours available at busy times or to cover staff holidays.

Cathedral Architect
The Chapter of Southwark Cathedral wishes to appoint a Cathedral Architect to be its principal professional adviser on all matters relating to the fabric of the Cathedral, its structure, contents and furnishings and its setting.
The architect will be responsible for overseeing all major repair and conservation works to the Cathedral and its surrounding precinct and for any maintenance work which would materially affect or permanently alter the fabric. He or she will have overall responsibility for advising on all aspects of the fabric, including aesthetic issues, and in particular in relation to the liturgy and worship of the Cathedral.
The successful applicant will be a registered architect or a member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors, who is qualified as a chartered building surveyor. He or she will have an understanding and genuine enthusiasm for complex historic and ecclesiastical buildings together with the ability to work creatively with the Chapter to enhance the Cathedral’s ministry of welcome to all through innovative architectural solutions.
